A Lazy Girl's Guide to More Volume

An Easy Way to get More Volume
Do you have fine hair and wish you had more volume? Is your hair so limp that when you curl it with a curling iron, the curls don't stay in place for more than a few hours? I have an easy and practically free solution for you. All you need to do is know how to braid and have about a half dozen rubber bands. Here's how to get more volume:
- Gently comb out wet hair, parting hair down the middle of your head.
- Section off one side of your hair into three equal sections (you can use more sections if you have more hair than I do).
- Braid each section as tightly as you can, starting as high up as possible and braid as far down as possible. Fasten each strand of braids with a rubber band.
- Leave braids in until your hair is dry, at least a few hours. I like to take a shower at night, braid my hair immediately after the shower, and leave the braids in over night.
- Remove rubber bands, unbraid your hair, and use your fingers to comb out your hair. You can use a brush, but be careful because that may cause you to get really fluffy hair.
And you're done! I've found that my hair keeps its nice waviness and volume for at least two days after I take the braids out. The volume tends to stay for a few days, and that's with no hair products and it stays in even after getting hair wet again. This is by far the easiest way I've found to give my limp hair some volume. I hope you had as much success as I did!
I've included a picture of how my braids look when they're in. But mind you, I never go out in public with my hair like that.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting. I appreciate it!
I've used this method for years, I even sometimes divide the sections depending on how I want the final outcome to be - its a very tried and true old fashioned way to get volume/body without product! and I love how soft my hair is this way! Some types of hair hold the waves better then others- Its really great for young girls (my daughter is 8) and she LOVES it when we unbraid her hair!
LOL well, I don't have hair or need for this but, it seemed like great tips anyway. Voted up and useful! Hope you enjoy my hubs as well!
Thanks for commenting. I, too find it kind of exciting to unbraid my hair!
Haha, thanks for reading!

Braiding of the hair before creating your style is a good volumizing tip. I looked at your bio-all the best on getting that novel out! Much success to you!
